Eesti Ekspress weekly writes that the kiss and tell autobiography of a former impresario who ended up on skid row in Paris has been blocked by a court in Estonia as it makes damaging revelations about an Estonian celebrity.

Raivo Kaer's "Hidden Life" had been hailed as a "shamelessly honest book." The cover design includes the words "sensational" and "emotional" with Kaer's bare upper torso.

In the introduction, journalist Anne-Mari Alaver says Kaer, now 33, writes about his time in the entertainment business, his debts and misdealings, "ties to politicians," burning his candle at both ends, "culminating in a deep internal monologue."

Names, better known than Kaer's, that appear in the book include Estonian UNICEF director Toomas Palu and entertainer Mart Sander.

Eesti Ekspress said in its society gossip column that a court, which was not named, said the book described Sander's health, details about his sex life, and "direct references to commission of a crime."

Courts in Estonia often are guarded about cases in progress, releasing information weeks later.

An excerpt not containing salacious details was published by Delfi; it was still up as of this writing.

The weekly said larger bookstores got cold feet over the court case and pulled all available copies. The publisher, Hea Tegu, returned the copies to the author who is still in France, reportedly still on the streets and battling hepatitis B.
