Three Impress at European Wildlife Photography Contest
Estonian nature photographers had a solid performance at this year's "European Wildlife Photographer of the Year," held last weekend in Lünen, Germany, where three Estonians impressed judges.
It was a double win for Estonians in the mammals category, with Sven Začek taking first place for a photo of deer and Mati Kose taking second place for capturing bats flying on a starry background, reported uudised.err.ee.
Another one of Začek's pieces, an aerial photo of elk in the wintertime, also received recognition.
A fourth photo, by Remo Savisaar, won first place in the "other animals" category, featuring a rhino beetle.
Altogether, there were 16,000 works entered into this year's contest, from both enthusiasts and professionals.
