Around 30 Estonian and allied aircraft will take part in an air show at the Ämari Air Base on July 20, and part of the base, the second one to operate NATO aircraft in the Baltics, will be open for visitors.

F-16 fighter jets from the Netherlands, Belgium and Denmark, British Eurofighter Typhoon jets, Saab JAS 39 Gripens from Sweden, and Polish MIG-29s will all make an appearance.

Also appearing will be the Polish air force's Orlik aerobatic team, Estonian L-410, L-39 and An-2 aircraft, R-44 and AW-139 helicopters, a Latvian Mi-17 helicopter, and a Lithuanian L-39.

Many of the aircraft will be available for closer inspection by the public, and the base will be open for visitors between 10 and 17:00. Those wishing to enter the premises must bring valid identification. Visitors are advised to arrive early as parking places are limited and a 1.5 to 2.5 kilometer walk will have to be navigated.

The show itself begins at 11:50, lasting four hours. It is in celebration of the 95th anniversary of the Estonian air force.

The air base, recently brought up to NATO standards, is about an hour's drive west from the center of Tallinn.
