Movie Theater Attendance Hits 18-Year High in 2010
Cinemas enjoyed total attendance of 2.1 million last year, setting a high for the last 18 years, according to Statistics Estonia.
Not since 1992, when the figure was 3.4 million, has attendance been higher.
Drastic cuts in ticket prices and the completion of additional multiplex cinemas during the recession resulted in an increase of 400,000 visits to the cinema over 2009.
Last year, a cinema ticket cost an average of 3.60 euros, the lowest in the past nine year and a nearly 20 percent drop from 2009.
