New Estonian Embassy in Beijing opens
Foreign Minister Keit Pentus-Rosimannus will be in Beijing on January 22 to 24, where she will open the Estonian Embassy building and meet with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Vice Foreign Minister Wang Chao and Chairwoman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People’s Congress Fu Ying.
“China is a very important partner for us in Asia, with whom we wish to promote both trade and cultural and educational cooperation,” Pentus-Rosimannus said. “The visit will provide an opportunity to strengthen bilateral relations.”
Security and other developments in Europe, Asia and the Pacific region will be discussed at the meeting, including the New Silk Road economic region project and the situation on the Korean Peninsula. Also under discussion will be the situation in the world’s various crisis areas.
During her visit, Foreign Minister Pentus-Rosimannus will open the Estonian Embassy in Beijing, a building constructed specifically to house the embassy. Estonia's Ambassador in Beijing is Toomas Lukk.
