Mother Patents Wheeled Sled as Winter Transport for Children
Lilian Promet was towing her two-year-old around town last winter when she decided that the snowy climate needs a new form of transport - a sled on wheels.
As an economics student at Tallinn University of Technology, Promet prepared a business proposal for class, turning her sled idea into a full-fledged product. She is now applying for a patent, reported Postimees.
As a mother, Promet said baby carriages and traditional sleds are both imperfect vehicles for winter commuting. Sleds can be troublesome when sidewalks vary with snow drifts and dry asphalt, or indoors, such as at her university campus.
Promet received 4,000 euros in aid from Enterprise Estonia for her business idea in December.
