Repinski to convene food exporters roundtable
Minister of Rural Affairs Martin Repinski (Center) has invited food producers with export experience to take part in a roundtable on food export that is to take place at the Ministry of Rural Affairs on Dec. 14.
Repinski said he was inviting those food producers with experience exporting food, and who would like to have a say in shaping the export policy of Estonian food products, to participate in a food export roundtable at the Ministry of Rural Affairs next Wednesday.
“Estonian food products have great export potential, as has been proven by multiple Estonian companies that have successfully exported their products for years,” spokespeople for the ministry quoted Repinski. The minister added that it was necessary to substantially increase the proportion of exports and help companies currently oriented toward the domestic market do so as well.
Repinski said he viewed increasing Estonia’s exports as one of his priorities in his capacity as minister.
The objective of the meeting is to start a broader discussion on export-related questions, hear entrepreneurs’ proposals and ideas for advancing exports in the context of state measures and existing support schemes, and to chart bottlenecks that need to be removed.
