John Harris, CEO of US-based defense contractor and industrial corporation Raytheon International, arrived in Estonia on Monday on the invitation of the Estonian Defence Industry Association (EDIA).

While in Estonia, Harris will meet with President Kersti Kaljulaid, Prime Minister Taavi Rõivas, Minister of Defence Hannes Hanso and multiple representatives of Estonia’s domestic defense industry, and on Tuesday he will take part in a conference organized by the EDIA.

EDIA Chairman of the Board Ingvar Pärnamäe told ERR that Raytheon has shown interest in cooperation with the Estonian defense industry for the past two years. "Things have gotten so far with a couple of Estonian companies that joint declarations of cooperation have been signed," he added.

According to Pärnamäe, Harris’ current visit is intended to further expand this cooperation, which is why Harris is scheduled to attend a series of more comprehensive meetings with a total of six defense industry firms over the course of a day and a half of his stay.
