Chocolala OÜ, an Estonian maker of handmade chocolate, has begun selling its products on the Swedish and Japanese markets.

Kristi Lehtis, founder and owner of Chocolala, told BNS that the company recently sent its first batch of chocolate bars, consisting of a couple bars, to Japan.

In addition to Japan, Chocolalahas begun selling its products on the Swedish market as well. The amounts sold in Sweden are greater and the variety of products sent there includes boxes of chocolate, chocolate bars, various chocolate figures as well as chocolate with reindeer lichen.

Chocolala, which went into business in 2014, has established contacts with partners mostly at fairs, Lehtis explained. The next event the are scheduled to attend is the ISM Cologne trade fair for sweets in Cologne, Germany early next year.

On its domestic market, Chocolala has its own storefront and workshop in Tallinn's Old Town and also supplies its products to retailers including Stockmann, Tallinna Kaubamaja, Selver as well as Tallinn Airport.
