Wooden House Exports Ignite in 2011
Last year brought increased fortune to the nation's prefabricated wooden house industry, with exports totaling 170 million euros, an increase of nearly 24 percent from the year prior.
The lion's share of the export ended up in Norway, which accounted for 50.6 million euros of the total and saw 6.3 percent increase from 2010, according to a statement from the Woodhouse Association.
After Norway, the largest takers of Estonian-produced log houses, prefab frame houses and modular homes were Germany and France, which brought in 34 million euros and 14.3 million euros, respectively.
Wood product exports from Estonia totaled 1.4 billion euros last year, the association said, with furniture accounting for the biggest share at 225 million euros.
