CPB Blacklists 36 Travel Agencies Over Delayed Sales Reports
The measure was taken by the Consumer Protection Board against travel agencies operating in Estonia who failed to present first quarter sales reports by the April 20 deadline.
The CPB uses quarterly sales figures to assess the sufficiency of travel agencies' mandatory insurance coverage. Out of the 264 agencies, 36 failed to comply with the requirement.
"This year, a majority of travel bureaus were able to meet the deadline. Just a year ago, it was the other way round. Still, the situation is far from satisfactory in so far as the law requires all companies to file the reports," said the consumer protection agency's head of consumer policies, Hanna Turetski.
