State-owned passenger train operator Elektriraudtee and rail network operator Eesti Raudtee have agreed on new timetables for the brand new trains.

The new schedule is set to come into effect at the end of October, after renovation work on the tracks has been completed.

For example, a trip to Paldiski will be 10 minutes, Keila six minutes and Riisipere 20 minutes shorter.

From January 1, the train operator will implement a more regular schedule, with trains connecting Tallinn to Aegviidu, Paldiski and Riisipere with hourly departures and arrivals in the day.

Elektriraudtee will also take over longer routes from Edelaraudtee on January 1, pledging speedier schedules for Tartu, Pärnu and Narva.
