One of the two main media groups in Estonia, Ekspress Grupp, is closing its operation in Ukraine, citing the lack of success of its online website as the reason behind the move.

The media concern, which owns brands such as Delfi and Eesti Päevaleht, has invested two million euros into Delfi Ukraine in six years, uudised.err.ee reported.

The company will shut down its online news site on March 1, but the Delfi brand could continue, as talks are taking place with the local management over a possible buy-out.

The company operates news websites in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
