Video: IMF Deputy Director Says 'Worst is Over'
In an interview with the International Monetary Fund's deputy managing director, Nemat Shafik, ETV journalist Mart Linnart asked about developments in the world economy.
Shafik said that despite the current economic slowdown, Estonia has strong potential for growth. The official also discussed the situations in Greece, Slovenia and Russia.
"The worst is over in the sense that the question about the viability of the euro and so on is off the agenda [...] But having said that, the European recovery is still incredibly fragile," Shafik said.
The interview starts after a short introduction in Estonian.
