Port of Tallinn Set for Year's 9 Millionth Passenger, a New Record
The Port of Tallinn, which operates six ports in the country, has broken previous passenger records and set to serve the nine millionth passenger on Thursday.
The current record was set in 2012, when 8.84 million people traveled through one of the six ports, which include three in Tallinn, and one in each of Muuga, Paldiski and Saaremaa.
The lucky nine millionth passenger is expected to land on Thursday at 10:45 from the Baltic Queen ferry, on the Stockholm to Tallinn line.
The winter cruise ship season began a few weeks ago, with close to 10,000 tourists expected to stop in Tallinn, about the same number as on busier summer days.
The company has a long-term of increasing passenger numbers to 10 million annually by 2020.
