University Teams Up with Mitsubishi in Electric Car Research Program (1)
Tallinn University of Technology has signed an agreement with Mitsubishi Motors Corporation for efficiency and consumer behavior studies concerning electric cars.
Researchers will study the use of 450 electric cars used by Estonian state and local officials that were acquired from Mitsubishi in 2012. Estonia also recently opened a nationwide network of electric car charging stations.
The research group will be led by an instructor from the university's informatics institute, Innar Liiv, who specializes in IT, data mining and information visualization.
"Data is the new oil. We are seeking innovative ways of processing data and using it in everyday life," Liiv said.
"More simply put, we are consolidating in the most compact way the local customer's experience for our Japanese colleagues and this feedback allows constant updates to new planned vehicles," Liiv said.
