Latvian Firm to Buy Elektriraudtee Trains
Elektriraudtee, the publicly owned electric train operator, has announced it will sell all of its rolling stock that is currently in use to a Latvian company, Holdinga Kompānija FELIX.
The companies are not disclosing the sum of the purchase, which comprises 48 wagons, reported uudised.err.ee.
The trains date from 1964 to 2002 and were produced by the Latvian train builder RVR, which itself is owned by Holdinga Kompānija FELIX. The buyer plans to renovate the trains.
Elektriraudtee decided last year to sell its rolling stock in light of acquiring 40 new electric and diesel trains from Stadler FLIRT.
