Update: Some Tallinn-Helsinki Flights Canceled Due to Finnair Strike Threat
Despite information to the contrary this morning, Finnair did in fact cancel some of its Tallinn-Helsinki connections for today due to a planned strike that was to begin.
The airline's website is now listing today's 16:25, 21:10 and 23:45 Helsinki-Tallinn flights and its 17:25 and 21:30 Tallinn-Helsinki flights as canceled. Saturday morning's 06:10 Tallinn-Helsinki flight is also on the list.
The Finnish Cabin Crew Union and Finnish Aviation Union were set to begin the first part of a nine-day strike today in protest over pay cuts today, but this morning accepted a last-minute proposal by Finland's national conciliator that averted the action. Nevertheless, 130 flights were grounded and further disruptions may occur.
Earlier, Finnair and Tallinn Airport confirmed that Friday's Tallinn-Helsinki schedule would remain unaffected, ERR had reported.
Passengers with tickets on the route, and on connecting flights, have been advised to check the airline's website for updated information.
