Profits of Top 100 Companies Tumble

While total turnover of Estonia's 100 largest companies grew by 1.3 billion euros to 17.8 billion in 2012, combined profits saw a huge fall from 1.59 billion in 2011 to 1.18 billion euros last year.

Out of the 100 companies, which are ranked according to turnover, 12 recorded losses totaling 104 million euros, mixed results compared to 2011, when 17 top-100 companies were in the red, raking up 96.6 million euros in losses, Postimees calculated today.

According to the daily, the companies with the highest turnover in 2012 were:

1. Ericsson Eesti AS – 1330.7 million euros
2. Tallink Group AS – 943.9 million
3. Baltic International Trading OÜ – 902.7 million
4. Eesti Energia – 868.5 million
5. Orlen Eesti OÜ – 535.3 million
6. Tallinna Kaubamaja AS – 467.8 million
7. Neste Eesti AS – 371.2 million
8. BLTR Grupp AS – 371.2 million
9. Rimi Eesti Food AS – 359.1 million
10. Swedbank AS – 342.0 million
