Estonian Air swapping Embraers for Bombardiers (4)
National carrier Estonian Air has signed a deal to use two Bombardier CRJ-700 aircraft, which will replace Embraer 170 jets.
Estonian Air board member Indrek Randveer said lease costs are 25 percent lower for the Bombardiers and they use less fuel, Postimees reported.
The company currently has three Bombardiers and four Embraer jets. The two new Bombardiers will arrive in Estonia in September.
The Embraer 170 jets are Brazilian-built and have 76 seats. The current Bombardier aircraft that Estonian Air operates, have 88 seats but the two new jets will have 70 seats. Bombadier is a Canadian company.
