Trade With Russia Up by One-Third
A substantial rise from the year before, Estonia's exports to Russia were worth 1.32 billion euros in 2011 according to fresh data by Eurostat.
In 2010, the corresponding figure was 840 million euros, Eurostat announced today. Imports from Russia also grew from 750 million to 1.03 billion euros in a year.
The EU as a whole contributed 7.1 percent of Russia's net imports, the annual volume growth being a moderate 0.4 percent.
Among Baltic states, Lithuania was the largest exporter to Russia with 3.34 billion euros worth of goods in 2011, also boasting the largest year-on-year growth close to one billion euros. Latvia was second, with 1.65 billion.
