A total of 173,400 mobile phones were sold in Estonia in the first half of the year, 12 percent more than during the same period a year ago, after a dip of 10 percent at the end of 2013.

The total value of the sales was close to 34 million euros, making the price of the average phone slightly below 200 euros, the research company GfH Retail and Technology revealed.

Three-quarters of all phones sold were smartphones. Smartphone sales passed conventional phone sales in July 2012.
