IT Workers Make the Biggest Bucks
With an average monthly salary of around 2,000 euros, the best paying jobs in Estonia are in computer programming. Bankers are in second place, but the gap is quite significant.
A junior software developer will only make an average 640 euros after taxes, but the more experienced ones are in high-demand on the global marketplace, and Estonian firms must, therefore, compete with international wage levels, wrote Postimees.
Statistics Estonia data shows that IT specialists, even when including lower wage jobs such as computer repair, still make more money than those in finance, where monthly salaries are around 1,500 euros.
During the second quarter of last year, wages for public administration and national security employees sunk from 1060 euros to 910 euros, before they began climbing again.
