AME Reaches for Larger Chunk of AMO Market
Tallinn-based Air Maintenance Estonia AS aims to become one of the leading aircraft maintenance and overhaul service providers in northern Europe once its new hangar is completed.
According to David Williams, new CEO of Air Maintenance Estonia, AME sees ongoing infrastructural developments in Tallinn Airport, notably the construction of a new hangar, as an excellent opportunity to expand its range of services.
The company plans to launch three base maintenance lines and two additional lines for lighter checks and modifications. In addition to Boeings, AME will also start servicing the Airbus 320 family.
The new hangar at the Lennart Meri Tallinn Airport, which will enable the company to triple its output, is expected to be ready by August.
AME was acquired by the Baltic private equity and venture capital investment company BaltCap from Scandinavian Airlines in 2010.
