More Businesses Than Ever Turning a Profit
The number of companies reporting a profit hit an all-time high last year, increasing by a quarter compared to 2011.
In 2012, the 65,548 profitable companies raked in a total of 5.5 billion euros, representing an 8 percent increase, according to freshly released figures from the financial information company Krediidiinfo.
All sectors finished with a positive bottom line last year, including the accommodation and catering sector, which was the only sector in the red a year earlier.
The number of companies declaring a loss also increased, by 18 percent to 30,798. But the sum of combined losses decreased by 12 percent to around one billion euros.
The total turnover of businesses in Estonia increased by 10 percent to 50 billion euros.
