Toyota to recall 1,500 vehicles in Estonia
The world's biggest automobile manufacturer Toyota will recall 1,474 vehicles in Estonia as part of a world-wide 6.5-million-car recall due to a defect in the power window switch.
The recall includes Yaris, Corolla, Auris, RAV4 and Urban Cruiser models built in 2005, 2006, 2009 and 2010.
The company said the modules in the power window master switch may have been lubricated inconsistently during manufacturing. Debris caused by wear from the electrical contact points can accumulate and cause a short circuit, which in turn cause the switch assembly to overheat, melt and potentially lead to a fire.
Head of marketing at Toyota Baltic AS, Elli Tiivel, said that Toyota dealers will contact all owners of the vehicles affected by the problem. Tiivel said the repair work will take around one hour.
Toyota said no accidents have happened due to the fault.
