Car Sales Continue on Road to Recovery
Sales of new cars in Estonia totaled 1,356 last month, a 92 percent increase over April of last year, the Union of Automobile Dealers and Service Companies has announced.
The figure marks the highest seen in more than two years, beating the previously-held record of 1,300 set in October 2008, uudised.err.ee reported.
In what must certainly come as welcome news for auto retailers, sales have been growing steadily in recent months, with February's total reaching 869 cars, and March's revving up to 1,222 cars.
The numbers are however still far from the pre-crisis peak of 3,192 recorded in May 2007.
The most popular makes in April were Toyota, which had 165 vehicles sold, followed by Skoda, Volkswagen and Honda at 160, 135 and 105 respectively.
