EMT Continues Losing Clients in January
In January, TeliaSonera-owned wireless operator EMT lost 1,580 mobile network customers to other operators in Estonia.
EMT also experienced a rough last year, as it lost a total of 21,800 clients to other operators.
The balance was not much better for Tele2 last month, with 1,431 clients more taking their business and phone numbers elsewhere than joining. Also, Tele2 ended 2011 with a net loss of 600 customers.
The third major operator, Elisa, gained the most customers last month, 3,019. The company also boasted a successful 2011, winning over 22,500 customers from other service providers.
Since phone number portability, which allows users to retain their mobile phone numbers when switching service providers, was introduced in 2005, EMT has lost 70,500 clients while Elisa has gained the most, 40,000.
