According to the results of a recent survey published by the Finnish Trade Association, one-day trips taken by Finns to Estonia are on the rise, while overnight trips are declining.

More than a third of residents of southern and western Finland have been on a shopping trip to Estonia at least once in a year, and almost all respondents have made the journey more than once a year, Talouselämä reported.

According to the newspaper, the increase of shopping trips is bad news for Finland - Finns no longer visit Estonia for holidays, but go there to buy goods instead.

Finns are attracted by better prices, 75 percent lower than in Finland, according to the survey. The price is especially important when it comes to alcohol, the consumers said.
