The Tax and Customs Board is planning to launch a new income and social tax declaration system, an electronic register for VAT liability, an online system to combat tax arrears and a smart solution for declaring online trade.

Marek Helm, the head of the board, said they will focus on the implementation of last year's changes, including the new staff register and new VAT checking methods, and begin work on a new online service site, Äripäev reported.

He said the new technical tools are now functional and it is their task use them so as to make sure all businesses have a level playing field.

The new worker registration system, which compels businesses to register any new workers immediately, not after a certain period, as before, has netted the state an additional eight million euros in income and social tax.
