Estonia Finishes in Middle of World Competitiveness Index

Estonia finished 30th in the annual index of the most competive economies, up six spots in the IMD World Competitiveness Center's ranking system released today.

 

The index ranked 60 economies around the world, which are a mix of Western and developing nations. Two-thirds of its system uses economic data, while the other third relies on opiniion polling. The index grades a mix of economic performance, government efficiency, business efficiency and infrastructure.

The World Competitiveness Center is based in Switzerland, and this is the 26th competiveness index it has published. The United States was first in the index. Sweden was fifth, and Finland was 18th.
