Estonian national airline Nordica carries over 40,000 passengers in August
State-owned Estonian airline carried a total of 40,069 passengers on 739 flights in August, bringing the total number of passengers served this year to 232,993.
Nordica operated approximately 78 percent of all fligths ith its own CRJ aircraft and overall load factor averaged 71.3 percent. The ending summer was a successful one for the airline, Nordica CEO Jaan Tamm said.
"The biggest jump has occurred in the use of our own planes — as lately as May, our CRJ aircraft served only 29 percent of all flights," noted Tamm.
In recent months, Munich has consistently remained Nordica's most popular destination.
The now bankrupt predecessor Estonian Air carried 62,355 passengers on 1,054 flights in August 2015. It was noted, however, that these figures are not strictly comparable due to differences between route networks and fleet size of the two airlines; Estonian Air flew to a total of 18 destinations at the end of August 2015, while Nordica's summer season includes just 15.
Nordica will continue flying on its summer schedule through the end of October.
