Transaviabaltika, the Lithuanian charter airline that has operated flight connections to Estonia’s islands since June this year, has had a load factor of less than 50% in the first month, with some 800 passengers that used its services.

Between Jun. 20 and 30 one flight from Tallinn to Kärdla had to be cancelled due to rough weather, Saare County daily Meie Maa reported.

Transaviabaltika took up its operations with a 19-seat LET L410 aircraft. Beginning Wednesday it will also use the same Jetstream 32 plane bankrupt Avies had leased before its demise.

The Lithuanian operator won its contract for the island connections as one of three bidders. The contract expires on May 31, 2019.
