Temnikova & Kasela has become the first Estonian gallery to participate in the Armory Show, a leading international contemporary art fair held annually in New York.

From March 8 to 11, the gallery showcased four video installations by artist Jaan Toomik at the four-day Moving Image video art fair, a sub-event of the simultaneously running Armory Show.

In total, 30 galleries from around the world participated in the video fair, while 113 galleries from 31 countries took part in the Armory Show's main program, ETV reported.

The Armory Show started in 1994 as a small fair at a Gramercy Hotel in New York but quickly outgrew its location and reached international popularity. Organizers said they were expecting this year's turnout to top the 65,000 figure recorded last year.
