Paavo Järvi to Conduct Russian National Orchestra
Estonian conductor Paavo Järvi is sharpening his baton in preparation to lead the Russian National Orchestra at a concert in Moscow on Friday night.
The concert, held at the Moscow conservatory, will feature world-renowned Russian pianist, Denis Matsuev, according to the orchestra.
The program includes Estonian composer Erkki-Sven Tüür's “Aditus” as well as Beethoven's “Symphony No. 5” and Tchaikovsky's “Concerto No. 2.”
The Estonian-American is a son of the conductor Neeme Järvi, and has been the director of the Orchestre de Paris since 2010. He was also formerly the director of the Cincinnati Symphony.
