Euro Support Holds Steady
According to pollster TNS Emor, support for the euro in December has remained on par with last month - 49 percent of the population is in favor and 43 percent oppose the changeover.
Support in August was 48 percent. It crossed the 50 percent mark briefly in October before returning to 49 percent in November. Emor said the five-month trend was stable and "unaffected by publicity campaigns and other economic and political news and events."
Supporters tend to be higher-educated and with higher incomes, and the opposite characteristics hold true for the euroskeptic camp.
The information is based on monitoring surveys conducted by TNS Emor at its own initiative, in which 1000 people aged 15-17 were surveyed by telephone each month.
