National Carrier to Increase Frequency of Flights
Addressing the relative lack of direct connections often criticized by business people in recent years, national carrier Estonian Air is pledging to move toward flying once a day to all of its destinations.
Vice-President for commercial operations Rauno Parras told ETV that the airline currently flies to about 15 cities, with the frequency being about three a week.
"We are working very energetically in the direction of increasing the frequencies to up to one a day to all destinations," he said.
As of March 27, Estonian Air moved to its summer flight schedule, which ups the number of flights per week to one key destination, Brussels, to six.
There will also now be one more flight to London per week - four in total.
As of April 2, there will be seven flights a week to Vilnius and Amsterdam, and from April 8, four flights a week to Moscow instead of three.
The incoming government coalition's program calls for flights to be developed so that Tallinn would be connected to all major business centers in Europe on a "there in the morning, back in the evening" principle.
