Estonia's Inflation Still Among Highest in EU
Estonia's 4.7 percent inflation rate for January was the highest among Eurozone countries, according to the latest Eurostat figures.
The country was followed by Slovakia (4.1 percent) and Portugal (3.4 percent), the data shows.
Estonia's place at the top of the monthly list does not come as a surprise, as it had the highest Eurozone inflation in 2011, despite taking the second and third position in November and December, respectively.
Estonia's January inflation ranked second highest among the 27 EU member states, coming in behind Hungary's 5.6 percent price rise.
Ireland registered the lowest Eurozone inflation rate last month (1.3 percent), while Sweden led the EU-wide ranking list with 0.7 percent.
According to the statistics, the average inflation rate in the Eurozone stood at 2.6 percent, while the EU average was slightly higher - 2.9 percent.
