Uber looking to expand to Estonia
The American app-based taxi company Uber has put ads up for three staff members in Estonia and could enter the market soon.
The company is looking for a local community manager, a general manager, and a operations and logistics expert, Estonian daily Postimees reported.
Uber is headquartered in San Francisco, California. The company uses a smartphone application to receive ride requests and then sends these trip requests to their drivers. Customers use the app to request rides and track their reserved vehicle's location. The company, valued at more than USUS$40 billion, is currently active in 250 cities around the world, although a number of nations, such as Germany and Spain have banned the app due to safety and competition regulations.
The app connects private car owners who want to offer taxi services with customers. The freelance drivers pay between 5-20 percent of their income to Uber. Uber will face tough competition from a local app-based taxi company, Taxify.
