Next Year's Hosts Impress at Startup Competition
Two finalists from Enterprise Estonia's entrepreneurship competition also made the finals in the MIT Global Startup Workshop held this year in Istanbul: the foot-powered, three-wheeled Raybike scooters and the travel game Gamebook..
Enterprise Estonia innovation capability manager Aali Lilleorg said the Estonians' projects left a strong impression on the organizers of the workshop. “Gamebook was a finalist at Ajujaht last year and international recognition at this year's competition for Raybike will certainly boost their self-confidence,” said Lilleorg, noting that Tallinn Airport and Skype HQ had both bought Raybikes.
Eight teams from Ajujaht represented the country at the 2012 MIT Global Startup Workshop.
MIT Global Startup Workshop took place for the 15th time this year. Billed as the world's premier workshop for promoting entrepreneurship, the three-day event typically brings together over 300 entrepreneurs, business executives, academics and financiers. The next one will take place in Tallinn.
