Large-Scale Soybean Processing Plant Envisaged for Sillamäe
The Port of Sillamäe on Estonia's northern coast may become home to a 29-million-euro soybean processing plant, if the results of a January 12 environmental impact hearing are positive.
Sojatehas Ltd., which submitted preliminary drafts for the plant, is also waiting for a green light from the port, reported Severnoe Poberezhie.
If the project is approved, the facility would produce biofuel and edible oil, as well as animal fodder, with the capacity to process 500,000 tons of soybeans per year. The raw materials would be imported from South America.
