Estonia Still Has Highest Inflation in Eurozone
For the fourth consecutive month, Estonia topped the Eurozone's annual inflation rankings in April with a 4.3 percent price increase, recently published data by Eurostat reveal.
Among the EU member states the highest inflation rate – 5.6 percent – was recorded in Hungary, followed by Estonia.
Last month, the average annual Eurozone inflation was recorded at 2.6 percent, which was one percentage point lower than the month before. The annual inflation rate also dropped in the EU, falling from 2.9 to 2.7 percent in April.
The lowest annual inflation rates last month were observed in Sweden (1 percent) and Greece (1.5 percent). Romania and Ireland shared third place with 1.9 percent.
The other two Baltic nations – Latvia and Lithuania – both reported a 3.3 percent annual inflation.
