Top Radio Hits of 2011 Revealed
Estonia's most popular radio hits of the past year were named during Radio 2's "Aastahitt 2011," a gala event broadcast live on ETV on the evening of January 6.
Among the home-grown tracks, listeners picked "Good Man Down" by Ewert and the Two Dragons as their favorite, followed by Getter Jaani and Koit Toome's "Valged ööd" (White Nights) and Ott Lepland's "Tunnen end elus" (Feel Alive).
"Good Man Down" also swept the Radio 2 staff picks, taking both the Newcomer of the Year award as well as the Editors' Choice award. The Demo of the Year prize went to ""Maksmata võlad" (Unpaid Debts) by Legshaker.
"Someone Like You" by Adele topped the list of international hits, with Rihanna's "We Found Love" coming in second and Coldplay's "Paradise" landing the third place honor.
The Radio 2 event, held every year since 1994, is arguably Estonia's best-established music awards show.
