Forestry Center Dumps Love Padlocks
The State Forest Management Center said it must remove hundreds of padlocks from a pedestrian suspension bride in Keila-Joa due to renovation.
The Keila-Joa manor park, a popular destination for picnics, has for years had a tradition where newly married couples seal their fate by attaching padlocks to a bridge's chain-linked railing and throwing away the keys into the water below.
Officials are asking for people to retrieve their padlocks on May 20. The unclaimed locks will be stored by the State Forest Management Center until June 16. The agency said it is banning the tradition in the future.
