Tallinn Refuses Permit for Rave at Site of Festival Incident, But Alternative Venue Found
Tallinn city said it would withhold a permit for a rave that was set to take place on Friday at Patarei, a former prison that is now a venue for parties and festival events. The event will take place in Pärnu instead, at the new Katlamaja club, it was announced today.
Deputy Mayor Kalle Klandorf said the reason for denying go-ahead to Patareiv in Tallinn was that the organizer was the same as the ones behind Kultuuritolm, which saw an incident where police had to be called.
"The city government did not grant permission to hold Patareiv 14, as we believe the organizers are not able to carry it out. It's also not the place for such events," said Klandorf.
The lineup of performers featured 1990s stars Caater ja Nancy, the artist KIWA, and the DJs Raul Saaremets, Aivar Tõnso, among others.
