Warm Weather on Tap Through the Weekend
Estonia's weather through the weekend should remain warm, with high temperatures a degree or two below 30 C, with scattered showers possible, says the National Weather Service.
Nighttime temperatures in the north should be from 12-16 degrees through Monday, warmer in the west and south, and winds should continue to be minimal, with a light breeze from the northwest.
The summer heat has caused the risk of forest fires to rise dramatically over the country. The National Weather Service has issued a extreme fire hazard alert for the northeast corner of Estonia, roughly in the area from Sillamäe to Narva. High fire hazard alerts have been established for much of the eastern half of the country, the western coast roughly from Haapsalu to Pärnu, and Saaremaa and Hiiumaa islands.
Seawater temperature at the beaches has hit 26.4 C in Pärnu, 24.5 C in Kuressaare, and 22.1 C in Tallinn.
Isolated showers are possible through Monday, with briefly heavy winds accompanying them. There is a slight chance of thunderstorms on Saturday in the south, but most of the activity is forecast to take place in Latvia.
