Triple win for Kenyan runners at this year’s Tallinn Marathon
Bernard Kipsang Chumba won Sunday’s full-distance run with 2:20.52, followed by Robert Kimaru Magut (2:21.43), and David Kipkorir Rutoh (2:2.09). The best Estonian result was Heinar Vaine’s fourth place.
His new personal record of 2:23.18 also made Vaine Estonian marathon champion.
Kaupo Sasmin came in second in the Estonian championship with 2:31.42, Piit Lehismets (2:32.25) won third place.
Kenyan runner Esther Wambui Karimi was the fastest woman at 2:49.20 and the 15th to cross the finish line. Moonika Pilli was the fastest Estonian woman and is the new Estonian champion as well, with a result of 2:52.19. Pilli was the second woman and the 27th runner to cross the finish line.
In the rankings of the Estonian marathon championship, Kaisa Kukk was the second-fastest woman with a result of 2:54.59, Hillevi Velba the third-fastest woman with 3:01.33.
