The 30 MPs, all elected in districts outside Tallinn or the parishes surrounding the capital, get reimbursed for rent ranging from €450 to €687.49.

A member of the Riigikogu sent to parliament by a district outside the capital has the right to compensation for their rental expenses. The maximum they can get is 20% of the pay they receive from the state, which at a monthly salary of €3437.46 is €687.49, daily Postimees wrote on Friday.

All MPs from outside Tallinn, Harku, Jõelähtme, Kiili, Rae, Saku, Saue, and Viimsi can apply to get reimbursed.

The costs the sum can cover don’t just include the rent, but also the utility bills that typically come with an apartment, including water, heating, and the like.
