Estonian minister sends condolences to Turkey following dormitory fire
Estonian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sven Mikser offered his condolences to Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu on Wednesday following the Tuesday dormitory fire in Adana that claimed 12 lives and injured many more.
"I was deeply saddened by the news about the dormitory fire," said the Estonian minister. "My sincere condolences go out to the families and loved ones of the victims and I wish a speedy recovery to those who were injured."
Turkish authorities detained six people on Wednesday in connection with a fire that broke out in a middle school dormitory for girls and left 12 people dead. The fire blazed through the three-story building in the Turkish town of Aladag, Adana Province, late Tuesday night.
The fire, which was believed to be cauased by an electrical fault, claimed the lives of 11 students and one teacher, and injured an additional 22 people. All of the victims were Turkish.
