Prime minister meets Chinese counterpart in Riga
Prime Minister Taavi Rõivas (Reform) met with his Chinese counterpart, Li Keqiang, in Riga on Saturday afternoon. Topics discussed included the possibilities of Estonian infrastructure in the transit of goods from China to Europe.
Rõivas traveled to Riga with a 25-strong business delegation. The companies represented were all interested in entering the Chinese market, Rõivas said, and pointed to the good opportunities for a more broad trade partnership between the two countries.
“Already now parcels are delivered to tens of European countries through the Post11 logistics center in Tallinn created by Omniva and Chinese partners,” Rõivas pointed out in a press release. “Estonia’s unique geographic position, the Nordic business culture, and the favorable business environment make us an attractive partner for China.”
Rõivas also participated in a meeting of Chinese and European representatives from 16 Eastern and Central European countries.
